The Wedding Water Cooler group is an assembly of recognized wedding experts and upcoming talent discussing wedding industry topics without political or sales agenda. The concept of the group comes from wedding analyst-expert, Christine Boulton. Boulton describes herself as the head wonk behind Think Like a Bride, leveraging her razor-sharp wit and keen sense of the wedding market to help clients navigate the precarious wedding business.
Quite the wonk, Christine Boulton is no-nonsense when it comes to the facts of the wedding industry. Guided by numbers provided by every source, she eats them up and spits out information that is factual, true and concise.
“The wedding business, in fact the world, is undergoing some fantastic changes at this time. It’s difficult, if not impossible, to figure out where it’s all heading. But one thing we don’t need are fairy dust and muddy-marketing,” says Boulton.
In Bolton’s opening statement on the Wedding Water Cooler she says, ” The Wedding Water Cooler is an invitation only discussion group for people in the wedding industry. We chat a bit and goof a bit but mostly we are here because as business people we have to keep our finger on the pulse of our industry. Our merry little band includes as many aspects of the industry as possible, from manufacturers to shop keepers, from journalists and industry analysts to advisors to national tourism boards. We have planners and DJ’s and speakers. Some members are more active than others. Some members are a little old school and some are cutting edge. The main thing is that they are all welcome and their opinions are valued and respected.”
When Boulton approached us with the idea of the Wedding Water Cooler, she asked what we’d like to see. Having come off a project that was rigid, nonconforming and failed due to a monotone approach, our contributing thought was simply one rule; there are no rules.
