The Week of December 19th in Review

By Paul Pannone

Celebrity event planner, Samantha Goldberg, called out wedding websites for listing vendor reviews that are difficult, if not impossible to dispute. Goldberg focused on Wedding Wire in her crusade that was coincidentally(?) dumped by Martha Stewart within 24 hours of the story breaking here on eWedNewz. Goldberg gave Wedding Wire a deadline of Friday, December 23rd, to meet her demands or else. The deadline came and went but eWedNewz has learned the back and forth communication continues.

Another wedding dress manufacturer, Jasmine Bridal, plans to open a retail store in Hanover, Illinois. An eWedNewz poll shows 64% of readers that voted are against manufacturers opening retail stores.

FLOW Formal is the manufacturer of choice for two major deals involving dress designers, Vera Wang and Tony Bowls, to produce tuxedos. FLOW is making the tuxedos for private branding deals; Vera Wang for Men’s Wearhouse and Tony Bowls for Jim’s Formal Wear.

Interest in the Wedding Water Cooler, an assembly of diverse wedding industry experts, trekked up this week. WWC members weighing in on industry newZ say they look forward to a great 2012 and much-needed changes in the wedding business. Interest and applications to the select group intensified in the fourth quarter of 2011.

eWedNewz takes this time to thank your for your support this year. We wish you and your family the best during the holidays and into the New Year.
